*doug is a canadian composer who started playing jazz in canada in the late 40s/50s, continued on as an arranger in europe in the 60s, returned to canada by the early 70s where he was a house composer/conductor/arranger for the CBC (canadian broadcasting corporation)... he also did scores for pioneering NFB animation shorts and worked w/ numerous pop/rock acts over the years... songs for the new industrial state is his masterpiece and very relevant today...

Beach Boys Associate TO GIVE FREE CONCERT

VENTURA COUNTY STAR "Philip Bardowell formed his first band, along with his brother Habib and their friend 'Full House' actor, John Stamos."
"At the young age of 20, already an accomplished pianist and guitarist, Philip found himself backing the legendary surf duo, Jan and Dean, as their bassist and backup vocalist. Consequently, Mike Love of the legendary Beach Boys hired Philip to serve as lead guitarist and vocalist in his Endless Summer Beach Band."
"Philip had befriended Beach Boy, Carl Wilson when Carl heard him sing at a birthday party for Beach Boy front man, Mike Love. Philip's voice caught Carl's attention and Carl called on Philip to sing his parts as a member of the Beach Boys touring band when Carl became stricken with cancer. After Carl's passing in 1996, Philip continued in his role as lead guitarist and vocalist for the Beach Boys until 2001 when he left the band to write and record his own music."
