Why Does The Press Care So Much About Carnie's Weight?

PR INSIDE "I've hit rock bottom with my weight. Everyone can see that I'm bigger, but I cannot hibernate. I've never lied or been dishonest about what's going on in my life. Even all these years later, having had such a great weight-loss story, being back in this place is so familiar. And it hurts. I don't want to feel this way anymore. It doesn't feel good when you have to struggle to get your pants on. For the past two and a half years, I haven't slept. I am convinced there has to be a link between sleep deprivation and a slower metabolism."
Carnie Dishes On Dad In Q&A

FASHION.IE Your dad, Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson, was able to slim down.
He walks five miles a day and is a great inspiration. Around Christmas, he said, “Carnie, I see you’re a little heavier. Are you okay?” I said, “Dad, it’s really hard.” And he goes, “I know, but you can do it.” He’s very positive.
Apologies & Reconnections

Well, UNCANNY is back, after a rough patch where we had to stop blogging for an extended period of time. Right before we stopped writing new posts, we did some CD-R trades with a couple of kind Beach Boys fans. Unfortunately, due to extremely extenuating circumstances, we were unable to reciprocate and fell through on fulfilling our end of the trade. Without getting into too much detail, suffice it to say that we had some serious personal issues to sort through. The main reason why we could not complete our end of the bargain was that our entire Beach Boys/Brian Wilson collection, as well as out entire stereo system and computer, had to be placed in storage on short notice. With all of this material and equipment locked away, there was no way to send these kind fans the music they deserved.
However, things have recently turned around; everything is out of storage; and we’d now like to make good on those old trades. But, over the ensuing year or more, we lost the contact information for these traders and the list of tracks we were to record for them. So, in the off chance that these kind souls have not completely shunned us, we’re writing this message to reach out to these traders in order to reconnect and finish these old trades.
First, we’d like to offer our sincere apologies to these traders who began to trade with us in good faith and did not get what they bargained for in return. Second, we’d like to make amends. If you are one of the traders we left out in the cold, please contact us ASAP so that we can make good on our offer. The best way to get in contact is to leave a comment on this post with how we can contact you to finish the trade(s). If you let us know your name and/or what we were supposed to send you it will likely jog our memory enough to ensure that we’re dealing with the correct folks.
Please let us know soon, so that we can clear up this embarrassing episode and move forward. Thanks.

E ONLINE "The battling Boys, with the aid of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Alexander Williams, sat down to avoid a trial and attempt to hash out a settlement to Love's claim that Jardine owes him about $2 million in attorney's fees racked up from previous litigation."
DAILY BREEZE "The current case centers around Love's request for about $2 million in attorneys' fees spent in previous litigation against Jardine in federal court."
"Jardine and another former Beach Boy, Brian Wilson, were present this morning in the courtroom of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Alexander Williams, who became angry when he learned Love was not there for the start of the conference."

NY TIMES "'He doesn’t like to admit that he listens to it as much as he does,' said Mike Love, an original Beach Boy and one of Kevin’s uncles. 'Because it might mess with his street cred.'"
"'Coming down to L.A., Southern California, everybody appreciates their music,' [Kevin] Love, 19, said. 'I’m not going to say I’m a conformist to everybody’s music, but I’ve always liked the Beach Boys. I just never liked to say it front of my friends back home.'"
“'I love my uncle’s music, I love my uncle,' [Kevin] Love said. 'They’re America’s band when it comes down to it. I like their music. How can you not like ‘California Girls,’ you know?'"
