MUSIC RADAR "[Denny] Tedesco completed The Wrecking Crew in 2008, but because of the enormous costs in securing the music to the documentary, he's been unable to find a distributor. So far, the only audiences who have been able to see the picture have been those attending various film festivals and private screenings. MusicRadar spoke with Tedesco (whose father, Tommy, has been described as 'the most recorded guitarist in history') about the making of the film. In addition, we discussed the inner workings of the group, some of the notable producers they recorded with and what it took to hang in what Tedesco describes as 'a fun, creative but extremely intense musical pressure cooker.'"

SACRAMENTO PRESS "It's been 50 years since the Beach Boys formed and have been 'getting around' with their all-American hits about love, summertime, the beach, surfing, endless youth and cars. Many fans flocked to Thunder Valley Casino and Resort Friday evening to attend the sold-out Beach Boys show, part of Thunder Valley's Summer Concert Series. Nothing but nostalgia filled the air as the crowd rocked their Hawaiian shirts and leis, hit beach balls in the air and lined up at the beer garden to get their fix before the band hit the stage."

SPINNER "It was about 1978 or something like that. Iggy and I were sitting there waiting -- you know it was Brian Wilson one of the great writers of all time -- and he sat down at the piano and starts playing 'Mama's little baby loves shortnin shortnin, mama's little baby loves shortnin bread.'"

CACHE VALLEY DAILY "The Beach Boys put on quite the show Thursday night in Logan, kicking off with 'Surfin' USA' and singing for almost two straight hours. Mike Love, one of the original band members, told a few jokes and after six songs he said they needed to take a nap before continuing."
More Forgotten Beach Boys – Sentimental Stylings

LVLS "Here are five more of my personal choices for forgotten Beach Boys songs. Once again, they range from the group’s prime in the mid 60s all the way to their reinvention in the 80s, so you can get a good sample of their different styles and eras. We start off with a couple of up-tempo songs, but then we slow things way down with some sentimental ballads."

Watch the video here: OVATION "Spirit of rock’n'roll Live at the Handlery Hotel, San Diego, CA July 28, 1990. This short performance for the ESQ Beach Boys Convention featured Brian Wilson singing solo and playing piano. A pre-recorded backing track was used for 'The Spirit Of Rock ‘n’ Roll.' Contributor Tracy Bryant writes: 'Brian started Spirit of Rock & Roll on the piano, then someone whispered something in his ear, and he stopped playing and announced that someone had come up with the track, and he was going to do it again with the tape. He got up, took the mike, and started really getting into the song, dancing and gesturing. It looked like he was truly enjoying it, something seldom seen in those days, and of course everyone there was stunned. This was after all a surprise appearance. Afterward, naturally there was a huge ovation (and you don’t see this on the convention videotape) he wiped away a couple of tears. It was definitely one of the all-time moments!'"
Some of the audio from this performance turned up on the Brian Wilson bootleg "Party!" More on this bootleg can be found at UNCANNY MARK I.

Great Vibrations; Brian Wilson's genius shines in Vancouver

CTV BC "It seems like six months barely go by these days without the so-called Beach Boys passing through B.C. on the casino concert circuit. Of course, everyone knows these are The Beach Boys in name only. The spirit of the band exited years ago with the passing of Dennis and Carl Wilson, and the departure and psychological struggles of its undeniable musical genius, Brian Wilson."
