Brian Wilson: Live at Carnegie Hall, August 13, 2004

Invasion of the band snatchers

NORTH JERSEY “There is something called the Beach Boys that you might have heard is touring these days. Except there is no Dennis, Carl or Brian Wilson. No Al Jardine either. But there is always Mike Love. Yes, everyone's favorite pop malcontent tours with a few backup singers who croon the band's hits. Brian was the genius; Dennis and Carl the soul. Love was a fantastic singer, but even he can't sing his way out of the oldies circuit.”

"Little Deuce Coupe" Explained

SMOOTH OPERATOR "A Little Deuce Coupe is the venerable 1932 Ford V-8 Roadster, originally designed as a small, high performance excursion vehicle, the 'Deuce' refers to the '2' in 1932, and is also suggestive of the fact the Deuce is a two seater. Back in the classic hot rod era of the 50's and 60's, the Deuce became the favorite of auto designers, who 'tricked-out' the already potent flathead V-8 equipped conservative roadster by pulling the hood and fenders, installing Lake Pipes, enlarging (boring) cylinders to further enhance its already inherent power, and dressing out in chrome detailing and flaming paint schemes."

Suit & Counter Suit: Gettin' Ugly

AP VIA FORBES "'I love The Beach Boys. It disgusts me how far this has gone and the lies and so forth,' Roy A. Sciacca said Thursday."

"Ed McPherson, the band's attorney, said the band would continue to try to retrieve the items and called Sciacca's lawsuit a publicity stunt. 'It's unfortunate that there are people out there that take advantage of situations like this and people willing to buy this stuff,' he said."

MIAMI HERALD ''’I was in love with the Beach Boys,’ said Sciacca. ‘I love Americana music history....In the collecting world, your name and word is so substantive. If I'm not vindicated, I don't know if I can continue collecting.’”
