FINANCIAL TIMES “As all producers know, for every Mamma Mia! that’s as settled in the West End as the pigeons on Nelson’s Column, there’s the long forgotten one-night stands. It seems unlikely for example that London will ever now see the Beach Boys musical that recently sank on Broadway, snatching cash and reputations with it. Such shows demonstrate that although producers need the confidence of putting their money on famous back catalogues, there’s no guarantee that confidence will be paid back.”
