The film includes interviews with Kim Fowley, Don Was and the creative force behind the Beach Boys, Brian Wilson. The film which was originally released in 1997 has been unavailable for some time and this release on DVD will be highly anticipated.”

UNCUT "An album of poetry and sparse music arrangements co-produced by Brian Wilson and Stephen John Kalkinich in 1966 has to come to light, and will be released in October. Kalinich was the first artist to be signed to Beach Boy's Brother Records label, and recorded the album 'A World Of Peace Must Come' over the course of one night at Brian Wilson's Bel Air house. However the recorded tapes were lost, only found 20 years after, and a release finally possible now through Light In The Attic Records. Kalinich has previously contributed lyrics to songs such as "Rainbows" which appeared on the recently reissued Dennis Wilson album 'Pacific Ocean Blue' and "Gettin' In Over My Head", performed by Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney. A World Of Peace Must Come will be accompanied with a booklet of all of Kalinich's poems, as well as liner notes by Beach Boys archivist Alan Boyd. The album is set for release on October 6. "

I finally received an advance copy of Brian Wilson's new solo album, "That Lucky Old Sun." It was well worth the wait. I noticed awhile back that someone on the BlueBoard made a comment that the record label was only sending out advance copies of "TLOS" as a digital download. That may well be the case in the UK, but here in the USA Capital/EMI have thankfully pressed up a few advance discs. This is a truly great album. While the demo version that leaked some time back was good, this is amazing. The fully fleshed out arrangements are wonderful. I probably listened to this album about four times straight through yesterday I was enjoying it so much. Too bad I did not get the chance to see "TLOS" performed live.

One sneak-peak: there's a hidden track #18, a unique riff on the "TLOS" theme; too bad it only lasts about 40 seconds. I don't want to give too much away. You should have the joy that I did upon first listening.

BROOKLYNVEGAN "In response to several disgruntled fans, Brian Wilson and his wife and manager Melinda Wilson have decided to refund fans'tickets for his July 11th New York City concert at Hammerstein Ballroom. Fans complained that the show, which was a benefit for the Stand Up For A Cure cancer benefit, ran up to several hundred dollars but had poor visibility for some seats, and only contained a 75-minute performance by Wilson. Wilson performed with a scaled-back band, and his setlist lacked Beach Boys or solo rarities."
